It was memorable and so much better then I could have imagined. My visit was to the #chanel boutique in #southcoastplaza #costamesa
Warmly greeted, such genuine people you truly feel welcome and not the least bit intimidated in any fashion.
My sales associate learned it was to be my first purchase and took so much extra time showing me a full range of products explaining the various types of leathers and finishes in addition to the styles of different products. Side notes in casual conversation… the lock mechanism on the boy bag has 26 moving working parts.
She also shared some interesting tidbits of history as we admired various pieces. Many of the items have fascinating roots… from the Boy Bag to #5 being her lucky number.. and many more. I’ve added to my to do list a book on Coco Chanel’s life … I’m anticipating quite a business woman. So much accomplished at such a point in history.
The numerous tips in purchasing I found so valuable..
The types of leathers… I chose the grained calfskin AKA Caviar for my tote as it’s more durable and prone to showing less scratches etc.
Types of bags and or products.. ‘seasonal’ a great deal ‘sell out’ or are limited. Many of the other shoppers in the store told me how they saw and missed items, so if you truly see something you love just go ahead and get it.
Surprisingly in this day of online shopping there is NO online sales for their bags, you can do it for perfumes though. Truthfully is especially first one does need to be a ‘hands on experience’ the feel of the variety of leathers, the sheen on each etc. all go into your purchase decision. It’s an investment for so many of us… take the time.. see all of them.. and enjoy the shopping experience.
Speaking of shopping experience … down to the printed napkins… your offered flat or sparkling water… coffee etc. one trip I had water. The second trip down to pick up my other bag I enjoyed the coffee.. I laughingly called it Coffee at Chanel (Tiffany’s is directly (Breakfast at Tiffanys lol) across and I’ve been there numerous times and love it too).
The coffee was good!
Definitely save the bags, and the boxes in addition to your dust bags etc. if you plan on reselling it’s a nice bonus and matters to some.
Their attention to detail in packaging even at the store for your items to be perfectly packed is incredible.. this was my boy bag..
I actually came away very inspired … the classic, the timeless, simplicity, black white, attention to detail and quality all things I value and try to attain in what I create. I feel renewed in my quest to continue and possible expand a bit … love that!!
